Un paio di settimane fa ho pubblicato un articolo con cinque dei miei orologi preferiti dalla SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) 2015. Come la maggior parte di queste caratteristiche la lista non era definitivo e del tutto soggettiva. In sostanza quello che stavo cercando di illustrare era la vasta gamma di orologi disponibili. A differenza di altri spettacoli (Baselworld in particolare) questa fiera è prevalentemente finanziato e partecipato i membri del gruppo Richemont. A mio parere sembra anche molto più esclusivo e gli orologi esposti sono tutti veramente di fascia alta. Tuttavia da quello che ho visto finora esso definisce il guanto di sfida per gli altri orologiai di superare le aspettative di quest'anno.

All'interno della Richemont piega ci sono molti orologiai di lusso tra cui Jaeger-LeCoultre , Vacheron Constantin SA , Roger Dubuis, Paiget SA, Montblanc , IWC (International Watch Company) e Panerai. Negli ultimi anni ho scritto su alcuni di questi marchi in totale Guarda le recensioni e per molte altre riviste rispettabili. Tuttavia ho sempre e solo pubblicato un articolo su Panerai e che era una versione personalizzata dalla società tedesca Blacken . Fortunatamente l'uscita del meraviglioso nuovo Luminor Submersible 1950 CARBOTECH 3 Giorni automatico mi ha dato una buona scusa per mostrare ancora una volta il loro talento.

Quando parlo ai collezionisti più esigenti tutti sembrano impazzire per orologi Panerai. In molti modi gli uomini di una certa età ora preferiscono questo marchio di leader di mercato Rolex SA . Personalmente ho sempre ammirato orologi Panerai soprattutto il formidabile Radiomir Egiziano PAM 341, che ha un diametro di 60 mm. Il Luminor Submersible 1950 CARBOTECH 3 Giorni automatica non è nulla di simile dimensione, ma ha ancora un caso 47 millimetri generoso. Queste proporzioni sono probabilmente più in linea con quello che i fan del marchio in realtà vogliono. In precedenza ho indossato molti dei loro modelli in titanio quindi vorrei immaginare questo nuovo orologio di carbonio si sentirebbe ancora più leggero al polso.

Visivamente il Luminor Submersible 1950 CARBOTECH 3 Giorni automatico ha un aspetto davvero cool. Ciò che rende questo orologio davvero speciale è la scelta del materiale. Per la prima volta nella storia della società hanno usato un carbonio composita nella produzione. Come ho già detto molte volte io adoro la natura eclettica di questa sostanza. In questo caso la facciata presenta un sensazionale opaca aspetto texture nera che ricorda le qualità di acciaio di Damasco. E 'inoltre pertinente ricordare che marchi come Richard Mille , Clerc e Schofield hanno anche raggiunto un estetica simile.

Che nome: Michael Bastian e Hewlett-Packard svelare il SmartWatch MB Chronowing

Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 XXL Chronograph

Girard-Perregaux’s Vintage 1945 XXL collection, inspired by Art Deco timepieces from the early 20th century, has become one of the brand’s most popular lines, expanding in recent years to include models with small seconds, power-reserve displays, moon-phases, and now a chronograph.

The rectangular case, with straight lines elegantly flowing into curved ones, is made of rose gold or steel and measures 36.95 x 36 mm in diameter. The case is designed for ergonomic comfort on the wrist and features alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes on its surfaces.

The dial has applied Arabic numerals in an Art Deco font and dauphine-style hour and minute hands. The central seconds hand and the hands for the chronograph counters are in blued steel. Another vintage touch is the railroad-style minute track on the edge of the dial. Echoing the silhouette of the case, the dial is also slightly curved.

The manufacture movement powering this retro wonder is Girard-Perregaux’sautomatic GP03300, on display through the watch’s sapphire exhibition caseback. It boasts hand finishing and a solid gold rotor, and has a power reserve of at least 46 hours. The strap is black alligator leather. Prices are $32,500 for the gold version (pictured) and $13,300 for stainless steel. There is also a steel version with a bracelet for $14,800. The watch photos can be enlarged with a click.

Preview: Hager Watches Commando Professional and GMT Traveler

Hager Watches of Maryland has announced two new models:, the Commando Professional Series, and the GMT Traveler. Both watches are available at discounted prices for those who place pre-order deposits now through April 28, 2014. Only 40 pre-order slots are available for each watch. Serial numbers may be reserved, with the exception of 001 and 007. In addition, the watches will feture a limited edition case back design to be developed in conjunction with the pre-order customers. 

The Commando Professional sports a brushed or black stainless steel 42mm case and 22mm bracelet, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, 200m water resistance, black outlined applied markers and sword hands, and a screw down crown decorated with the Hager logo. Perhaps its most striking element will be its black ceramic bezel with an engraved index filled with Superluminova. It will be powered by the HGR 52 automatic, a modified Miyota 9015. The 24 jewel movement beats at 28.8k vibrations per hour and has a 42 hour power reserve. The watch will be shipped in a scuba tank case. Pre-order pricing is set at $450 for a brushed case ($600 MSRP), and $550 for a DLC black case ($700 MSRP).

The GMT Traveler has similar specs, but is powered by the 26 jewel Hager 60 movement, a modified ETA 2836-2) with a 28.8k beat rate and 40 hour power reserve.  Of course, it also adds a red tipped GMT hand. Purchasers may opt for a leather travel case or scuba tank. Pre-order prices are $550 ($700 MSRP) for brushed stainless and $650 ($800 MSRP) for DLC black.

Pre-production illustrations are up now, and they look mighty impressive. The black outlined applied markers should add dimesion to the dial and the logo crown is a nice touch, but the star of the show will no doubt be the ceramic bezels.  While you are perusing the pictures, take a look at the text at the very bottom of the dial: "Hagerstown, Maryland."  That's right, the new watches will be assembled right here in America, an exeedingly rare thing in the watch making industry.

Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo XVII Guarda

Asinewatches.com Review: They Put The T In Hublot… NOT!

In this Asinewatches.com review I want to talk about one of my latest purchases, a Swiss Hublot replica. I thought it would be the perfect moment for this, since I really can't remember the last time I bought a fake Hublot watch powered by a Swiss movement, especially a Valjoux 7750. If you have read my last couple of reviews, you would know that not all ETA movements are genuine and we could only hope that's not the case with this 7750.

Quality: Are These Watches Any Good?

Hublot Replica Classic Fussion Chronograph Swiss

As I was googling for an Hublot replica, I came across Asinewatches.com, a website that sells amongst other things, Swiss Hublot replica watches, a little cheaper than you'd expect. Browsing around, I found this Hublot Classic Fusion replica, powered by a Valjoux 7750 movement (at least that's what they claim).
I think you've noticed by now the obvious flaw: on the rotor, instead of “Hublot”, you can read “Hublo” and if you look closely, you'll see that this is not a typo. The letter T was there, but it somehow fell off. You can only imagine how well these things are put together and remember, this was supposed to be a Swiss Hublot replica. I don't even what to think about their Japanese replicas.
Funny thing is that although this watch looks decent when you look at it (except the missing T from), it somehow feels cheap to the touch. If you own a poorly made replica, I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about. Functionality-wise, I can't really complain. For the 3 days that I had it, it seemed to keep time pretty well.
Nevertheless, I can't really call this Swiss Hublot replica a good watch. For $400, I expect a lot more.

The Site: Usability and Design

The website doesn't look bad, but not great, either. Getting around is easy, but they could work a little on their design, it's just not that professional looking.
Besides Hublot replica watches, they have many other brands available as well, but I'll be honest and admit that I didn't pay much attention to them. Pictures are watermarked and nicely done overall but I can assure you that this Hublot replica didn't look like this in the pictures.

Service: Is Their Staff Any Good?

You can get in touch with these guys only through email, even though they advertise a live chat feature which is of course, inexistent. Their staff is not the greatest either, but I won't go as far as to say that they're impolite. Response times can vary from a few hours to a day or so.

Shipping: Is It Fast and Reliable?

I paid $10 for the shipping and received the Hublot replica in about a month. It takes too long in my opinion, but they admit this and they state on their website that it can take up to 20 working days. They also offer express shipping, which costs $20, but I can't tell you if that's faster or not.

Return Policy: Is It Reasonable?

They offer 14 days for exchange, 7 days for refunds. As written on the website, the return policy sounds reasonable. I wrote them about the issues, I sent back the Hublot replica and now I'm waiting for my refund.

The Bottom Line

To sum up this Asinewatches.com review, I can't really say that I'm pleased with the whole experience. A Swiss Hublot replica should be held to higher quality standards, even if it sells for less than the usual. I can't definitely say if the 7750 Valjoux movement was genuine or just a clone, but the watch was really cheap overall. A decent return policy helps, but you still lose time and some money in the process.
